"Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him. Children born to a young man are like arrows in a warrior's hand. How joyful is the man whose quiver is full of them." Psalm 127:3-5

Advent Activity Day 5 and 6

Advent Activity Day 5- we learned about the people of Babel whose pride got in the way of their relationship with God and God knew it wasn't good for them so he confused their languages forming the nations. And we learned about how children around the world celebrate Christmas. We made poinsettia which come from Mexico and Hawaii. We also learned Merry Christmas in Tamil (language of Sri Lanka) is Kirusmas Vazphuphal which is pronounced KROOZ-ma FART-oo-dal). After reading that part of the book I totally lost the boys' attention. Can you guess why?

Advent Activity Day 6- We learned about Abraham and God promising him descendants that would outnumber the stars. We made star marshmallows. (We were also supposed to go star gazing later, too, but we forgot and it is cold and probably cloudy.)

He ate a few marshmallow stars then wanted to save his last one because it was his 'star buddy' but I told him to just eat it because marshmallows don't keep. He started to cry (which I didn't realize because I was cleaning up) and ate it then really broke down crying because he ate his buddy. Not sure he learned much today other than mommy is mean and makes him eat his buddies.

This was his buddy that I made him eat.
