"Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him. Children born to a young man are like arrows in a warrior's hand. How joyful is the man whose quiver is full of them." Psalm 127:3-5

Advent Activity Kits

I was looking for advent activities or an advent calendar to do with my 6 year old son. Everything I found concentrated on candy or presents.  I wanted something different.  I found an Advent Reading Plan on pinterest that uses my favorite children's Bible, the Jesus Storybook Bible.  I didn't want just a reading plan, though, so I created activities to go with it.  Feel free to use it, share it, adapt it as needed.

You will need both.

The idea is to make little activity kits for each day in December leading up to Christmas starting with December 1st (Day 1).  You put the activity supplies in a brown or white lunch bag and leave them out for the child to find in the morning.  The activity cards tell you the reading selection of the day out of the  Jesus Storybook Bible.  Read the selection then do that activity. It's that simple.

Let me know what you think.

(I will post photos of the kits once we actually start using the kits with my little one.  I wrote the curriculum but haven't actually assembled any kits yet.)
